Welcome Aboard Barefoot’s O Yachts Class 4 Catamaran
Barefoot’s O Yachts Class 4 Catamaran, AONYX, stands as one of the lightest sailing catamarans in her class currently in production, boasting a mere displacement of 7.2 tons. This incredible vessel enables a crew of two to handle her with ease, as they manipulate most sail controls from her helm station utilizing an electric-powered winch. Additionally, Aonyx achieves her effortless high performance compared to other catamarans of her size without compromising on comfort. Notably, her amenities include air-conditioning and a water maker, ensuring her crew stays clean, fresh, and cool. Moreover, all systems operate on lithium batteries, and her passionate sailor owners have lovingly appointed her.
Interior
The O Yachts Class 4 Catamaran, Aonyx, proudly offers four spacious cabins and two exquisitely designed heads, providing a truly remarkable experience on the open waters. Moreover, this exceptional catamaran stands out for its two shared heads, which are a true highlight. Furthermore, it is a masterclass in contemporary luxury, as each head is designed to offer the utmost comfort and privacy. Additionally, guests can indulge in a rejuvenating bathing experience after a day of exploring crystal-clear waters and hidden coves, as the heads are equipped with separate shower facilities and electric toilets.
Handling
Aonyx offers effortless maneuverability under sail or power. Additionally, her elevated helm station provides excellent visibility. Moreover, with a draft of only 43 inches, she can access the beautiful shallow areas in bays. These areas are often inaccessible to other boats with deeper keels.
In her standard cruising configuration, Aonyx features a self-tacking staysail and a J 3 on a profurl roller furling – reefing system. Furthermore, the mainsail utilizes a conventional slab reefing system. This system is conveniently controlled by the electric winch at the helm station.
Performance
1. Aonyx offers those with experience and a craving for speed the option to equip additional reaching and running sails (J2 and A5) for some seriously fun, fast cruising. Moreover, the furling systems support all sails, with the J2 and A5 being kept on deck and hoisted and deployed as required.
2. Aonyx presents itself as a clean-lined, modern, easy-to-handle, and lightweight cruising catamaran. Notably, it effortlessly outpaces other yachts, even larger ones, while remaining simple to sail and performing exceptionally well. Additionally, the Barefoot team has put together a trimming guide to assist you in discovering the safe, sweet spot settings to make the most out of your sailing experience.
